Let your journey begin with a private, guided tour of Little Havana, or with one of the exclusive and one-of-a-kind group tours I offer on particular dates. I cater to the independent, inquisitive traveler who craves the authentic, meaningful and unique – and even the mysterious!

My personalized adventures in the Little Havana neighborhood let you set the pace and are tailored to your particular interests and needs. I consider you a traveler, not a tourist, and I'm here to help you experience the spirit of this place. I'll show you the area’s art, food, hidden spaces, traditions, etc., and not only along the famous Calle Ocho but also in other less visited areas of the neighborhood.

Art studioHear the stories behind our public art, from comical local dramas to intriguing explanations of the rich symbolism embedded in our murals. Follow me into the studios of artists and artisans, from painters to ceramicists. Receive special access to theaters and hidden gem spaces -- even private homes. I can also arrange for you to see or take a dance or music class, or help you plan your trip to coincide with local performances or exhibit openings.

Experience the history of the area and its architectural treasures, while also learning about current local folk, traditional and spiritual practices. Hear directly from cigar makers, Santeros, business owners and longtime residents. Explore the ecological aspects of our area and learn which plants are used locally for healing. I can also take you to the Miami River.

botanicaOn my tours, you can learn about (and sample) the cuisine of the neighborhood beyond just Cuban food. I share fascinating details about our locally grown tropical fruits, herbs and vegetables (beyond Little Havana, I also offer bus tours of South Florida farms and community gardens using sustainable practices). Want to learn how to cook a traditional meal? I can include this as a part of your experience, too.

My tours of Little Havana are offered through Little Havana Guide, LLC, the small business I founded. I am publishing a comprehensive online (and later print) guide to Little Havana. I am devoted to the principles of geo-tourism and civic tourism. I am also experienced at working with groups and have led tours of the neighborhood for international journalists, funders, community developers and culinary writers.
